Carmel Meeting
Over 30 schools were represented at the meeting in Carmel today. Cris Tomos summarised their efforts in ensuring the fight for the survival of Ysgol Hermon. Despite the eventual outcome, a lot of inspiration can be gained by the efforts of the community.
The financial effort was a big factor in the protest and they often felt isolated and weary of the scale of the task. At least this is an easier burden for a forum of over 30 schools!
It was agreed that we try and hold a number of sponsored walks over the Easter week-end in order to ensure a financial income for the fight ahead.
It was also agreed that we hold a protest in Carmarthen as soon as the local authority announce the first stage of the proposed closures.
